Edmonton Oilers Forward Reaches 50-Goal Mark

Draisaitl Extends Contract with Oilers

Leon Draisaitl, the German-born center and alternate captain of the Edmonton Oilers, has made history by scoring his 50th goal of the 2022-23 NHL season. The milestone was achieved in a game against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, making Draisaitl the first player to reach the 50-goal mark this season.

Draisaitl's impressive achievement comes amid a remarkable season for the Edmonton Oilers, who currently lead the Pacific Division. The 27-year-old forward has been a key contributor to the team's success, notching 50 goals and 55 assists in 71 games played.

In addition to his on-ice performance, Draisaitl recently extended his contract with the Oilers, signing an eight-year, $68 million deal on Wednesday. The contract extension signals Draisaitl's long-term commitment to the team and is expected to keep him in Edmonton through the 2030-31 season.

Draisaitl's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed by the hockey world. He is a two-time Art Ross Trophy winner, awarded to the player with the most points in the NHL, and a Hart Trophy winner, given to the league's most valuable player. He is also a member of the NHL's All-Star team and has represented Germany on the international stage.

As the Edmonton Oilers continue their playoff push, Leon Draisaitl's exceptional season and long-term commitment to the team are a testament to his skill, dedication, and the bright future of the Edmonton Oilers.
